Art Weekend: Hope
I saw this picture and it touched me. So i decided to draw it. Hope is something we all have. We are alive because of it. We survive in this country because of it. We form relationships because of it. Heck, even buying a tin of milk is a form of hope. Because you have hope that you will find milk when you open the tin. This is the purest form of that singular emotion that keeps us going. I hope it does for you what it did for me. My name's Hope.

Art Weekend: Cat

Hi. So i thought I'd do a cat this week. In this part of the world, Africa;especially in Nigeria, people believe that cats are agents of witchcraft or are even witches themselves. While that might be true, it doesn't stop me from believing them to be cute. I don't know about any other animal that can land on its own feet even after falling from a great height. I think cats are awesome.

The Other Side of Love
"I
love you, Deronke!" He said as he got close to the dining table. His eyes
were moist, and veins stood out on his face, neck and arms. I wondered how long
he had been crying, shedding angry, bitter tears for a love lost. I wondered
how long he had kept those words buried in his heart. The words that he now
poured on me.

Valentine Special: Wuraola
Wura from the black soil - a winsome fairness
Unspeckled skin – sacred
to the spectacles
Rays recollected in a
feminine silhouette
All eyes can’t but
slumber in the stupor of admiration
Oh! Are the orbs of your
oval face moulded from the soil of the sun?

Let your
lamp of love
lighten the labyrinth of my heart
Accept prithee my poetic
platonic proposal...

Art Weekend: Afro

This one was just a little doodle that turned out really cool, so i just did it on a bigger scale. I don't think I'm done, maybe I'll complete it later. I have this affinity for afros. I think it's completely African and I'm African. So it works.

Art Weekend: Familiarity
Familiarity was a work I did for our
class exhibition when I was in 200 level. The theme was 'eyes that have ceased
to see'. A phrase gotten from J.P Clark's poem 'Casualties'.
