9 Hated and Yet Loved Celebrities

Celebrities are supposed to be loved and adored by their fans but sometimes they fall from that path at times and the fans react back. Here is a list of some few celebrities that have at one point or the other gotten on the wrong sides of the fans but still we cant help but love them...enjoy

Stella Damascus

Beautiful Nollywood actress Stella Damascus has dominated the movie screens as far back the early 90’s having starred in her first movie role in 1992 making her debut with the movie ‘Abused.’ Many have been endeared to the actress flawless interpretation of roles but Stella now seems to be one of the top celebs that have fallen in the eyes of her fans. Most of her problems seem to stem from her love life from many accusations to her husbands and the problem of her failed marriages. Some fans have tagged her ‘husband snatcher’ with her recent marriage to Daniel Ademinokan the estranged husband of fellow Nollywood actress Doris Simeon. Many believe her to be a home wrecker and it doesn’t help matters that she has been linked romantically with the likes of Ramsey Noauh,  Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD) in times past even during her two failed marriages.

Despite all these allegations, Stella remains strong and continues to do what she does best. She was one of the first celebrities to lend her voice to the issue of child marriage facing the nation despite the mixed criticisms that trailed her verbal attack on the senators.

Wizkid

Calm your nerves down, Wizkid is a cross breed, he is loved by many but his popularity with his fans seems to be on the edge these days especially with what is perceived with to be ‘pride’ from the singer. He got into the bad books of many when he tweeted and called fans ‘broke’ just because a certain fan corrected his grammatical blunder. It took the intervention of P Square and J Martins to point out to him that the fans made him. Many fans also complain that Wizkid unlike his music rival Olamide is stingy which was made manifest recently when some certain boys in Lekki area stoned the singer’s Porsche car.

However we still can’t help but love Wizkid because he gives us nothing but good music and has us dancing our hearts away with jamming hit after hit.

Tonto Dikeh

Tonto Dikeh is one of the most talked about celebrity and the attention she gets is not necessarily positive. Tonto Dikeh is known for her many controversies which has made her to be the target of many angry rants and hate messages from fans and foes alike. From her much criticized venture into music, to her fall on stage at Iyanya’s concert, her alleged role in the breakup of Iyanya and Yvonne Nelson, her many insults to certain well loved celebrities, her marijuana excesses and roles in some certain ‘soft porn’ movies, Tonto has been on the receiving end of negativity from fans.

Whether you like her or not, Tonto Dikeh still has her own fans that love her and the hate only seems to get her more popular. She may not be your first love but you can’t silence her and you can’t help but notice her, her so called poor songs got massive downloads and she is still doing well for herself in her acting career.

Davido

Who wouldn’t want to hate Davido if you got the case of the green monster, he got a rich father and now has a growing music career, which is enough reason for some people to hate him. Davido has been castigated as having had everything handed down to him despite the singer’s frustration of wanting to be taken seriously as a musician. Fans are quick to point out the difference between him and Wizkid’s grass to grace story and believe that he is more of a celebrity because of the money he pumps into it. Davido himself does not help his case with his getting caught with his pants down on more than one occasion and saying that a certain N10 million deal is chicken change in a country where most people struggle daily to make ends meet.   

Apart from these, Davido is well accepted and continues to build a strong fan base with him shutting most of the bad belles with hit after hit, he has been able to produce hit tracks like ‘Dami Duro,’ ‘Gobe,’ and his latest ‘Skelewu’ which is enjoying massive airplay so in the end you still can’t help but like him.

Linda Ikeji

You would want to hate Linda Ikeji as well if she happens to gossip about you on her blog. Known as the woman who has made blogging popular among Nigerians and the queen of the online media, Linda Ikeji has had many run ins with celebrities and well respected people in society because of unsavoury news that she has posted about them. Many on those that she had ‘opened their yansh’ would like nothing better than to probably run her blog down but that does not seem to be imminent as Linda grows stronger by the day.

Love her or hate her but Linda has grown such a steady and strong fan base that many still open her blog first thing in the morning and serves as some people’s daily Bible or Quran since she seems to always break all the juicy stories first and many other bloggers copy their news from her.

Denrele Edun

TV personality Denrele Edun is another controversial celebrity that has many talking about him wherever he steps into. Considered by many as eccentric, Denrele is loud and bold and does not seem to give a hoot about what you think about him. He has had several run ins with his fans as well, starting from his famous kiss with Charly Boy, to his alliance with his best friend, late Goldie who was under heat during her BBA days, also to his recent alliance with Beverly Osu (another BBA contestant) who has been under fire for some of her actions and words while in the house.

All the hate is however water off a duck’s back to Denrele and you don’t have to like it before you see him on your TV screen, the Channel O presenter is in your face and if you are one keen on the entertainment industry, you only end up liking the creative presenter. 

Cossy Orjiakor

Many don’t know what to call her, porn star, actress, dancer, or singer? Whatever description you choose to fit her with, Cossy Orjiakor is famous for her boobs more than whatever talent she may possess. This socialite is not ashamed to flaunt her mammary glands in front of the cameras and adores the attention of the paparazzi. Cossy’s antics of breasts exposure has had many women curse at her dignity and self respect and called her a shame to women.

While hating on Cossy, you can’t help but notice the many lewd comments that some certain male fans also leave on Cossy’s twitter timeline and photos she posts. She has had many men reaching for their Vaseline.

Beverly Osu

Everybody knows who Beverly Osu is, because if you don’t then you must be from another planet. The controversial BBA TheChase contestant ‘shocked’ the whole of Africa with some of her confessions while a contestant in the Big Brother House. Many Nigerians took a dislike to her when she had sex with her South African lover Angelo Collins whom she met in the house. Although Beverly has continued to deny the sex talks, she is still in the black book of many who consider her a disgrace to Nigeria for having portrayed Nigerians in bad light to the viewing world.

Despite many of the verbal attacks and insults on Beverly’s person, she seems to be benefitting from it all as she has continued to get hype from all the talks going on about her. The model cum video vixen hit Abuja recently and received a massive warm welcome.    

Charly Boy

Considered as an eccentric old man, Charly Boy has been able to remain afloat on the ‘celebrity-sphere’ due to his many antics and strange ways. Some of these antics haven’t sat well with some of his fans though who consider him too old for some of the things he is doing. Many consider his weird ways a cry for attention while some simply just think of him as an older version of Denrele. From his weird looks to his weird pictures, Charly has many freaked out.

However despite his bizarre ways, Charly Boy remains the one and only area fada and this is something that cannot be taken away from him. He still constantly reaches out to fans and even doles out ‘fatherly’ advice sometimes.
