Art Weekend: Familiarity

Familiarity  was a work I did for our class exhibition when I was in 200 level. The theme was 'eyes that have ceased to see'. A phrase gotten from J.P Clark's poem 'Casualties'

When a baby is born, everything it sees is wonderful and something beautiful to be explored and enjoyed. As it grows older, however it gradually loses interest and gets familiar with its surroundings and everything in it. The inner circles represent the way a new child sees the world and the outer circles eventually tapers out into less detailed patterns. Everyday patterns. That's familiarity. Eyes that have ceased to see.
